Do you ever come across the following error xxx.ADP is not a valid Win32 application when launching an Access 2013, 2012, 2010, 2007 or 2003 application under Windows 7 or 10?

This is what happened you logged into a computer that has either Windows 7/8/10 and an Access 2013 / 2012 / 2010 / 2007 / 2003 application with an ADP type file that you want to execute.

When you tried to open this xxx.ADP file, the system asked you to associate the xxx.ADP file with a program. So you right clicked on the xxx.ADP file and under "Open With", You associated xxx.ADP with Microsoft Office 2013, 2012, 2010, 2007 or 2003
 component (Access 2013, 2012, 2010, 2007 or 2003).

Now after making the association, when You try and open the xxx.ADP file, You get the following error:

xxx.ADP is not a valid Win32 application.

If you were to launch Microsoft Access 2010 directly and then select the file xxx.ADP,
the ADP file opens successfully.

I had the same problem with the Office Professional I installed, using Window 10.  I was able to open any files if I had Word file opened first, but opening from the file gave me the  WIN32 application error.

The fix first offered here worked, I just had to adjust where to find the files.

Click on Start>Control Panel (You need to list All Control Panel Items)\ Default Programs\Set Associations  (Associate a file with type or protocol with a program)

Scroll down until you get  "ADP" or "XLSX or XLS" or whatever office program you are having problems with, select it and select Change Program at Top Right>
Browse to C:\Program Files (X86)\Microsoft Office\Office14 or C:\Program Files (X86)\Microsoft Office\Office12 or C:\Program Files (X86)\Microsoft Office\Office11 and chose Access or Word or Excel or whatever file association you are dealing with

(Last Option: If it didn't work, re-installing Office hope will help)
